Automation of Pan-Sharpening Methods for Pléiades Images Using GIS Basic Functions

Pan-sharpening methods allow the transfer of higher resolution panchromatic images to multispectral ones concerning same scene. Different approaches are available in literature, and only a part these is included remote sensing software for automatic application. In addition, quality results supplied by specific method varies according characteristics scene; consequence, different algorithms must be compared find best performing one. Nevertheless, pan-sharpening can applied using GIS basic functions absence tools, but this operation expensive time-consuming. This paper aims explain approach implemented Quantum (QGIS) Pléiades images. The experiments carried out on data Greek island named Lesbo. total, 14 reduce pixel dimensions four bands from 2 m 0.5 m. procedure involves already software; it also permits evaluation resulting supplying values appropriate indices. demonstrate that provides user with highest every time, so possible fused products obtained minimal effort reduced timeframe.
